Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Our Values

At Seager, Tufte & Wickhem LLP (“STW”), we believe diversity, equity, and inclusion are of the highest importance.  We believe that diverse viewpoints increase the collective intelligence of our group.  We are committed to refining our focus on diversity programs in our area of law because we believe it just makes good business sense.

Our Vision

As an intellectual property law firm, our vision is to cultivate an innovative culture where all talented individuals can exhibit their skills and have the opportunity to advance.   We strongly believe in, and live, with the ideal that respect is the foundation for relationships with all people we encounter.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Our efforts toward advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at STW include:

  • The STW Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee meets at regular intervals to discuss and refine our diversity and inclusion efforts.  The STW Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee includes employees from all levels of the organization, and is led by two partners and the COO.
  • STW is committed to actively recruit and retain diverse candidates for all STW positions.
  • Engagement with the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) group to help guide and refine our diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Annual STW Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Training for all employees.

Moreover, a current trend in diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the legal industry is the use of flextime and other flexible employment and scheduling practices to accommodate a more diverse workforce.

We are committed to building a vibrant, diverse legal community where all employees are working together in an inclusive and respectful manner.  We are committed to continuing to put diversity into our practice and promote equity and inclusion across the organization.

Our Focus

STW is consistently putting focus and effort on diversity and inclusion while ensuring we create a respectful and inclusive working environment no matter personal characteristics or needs of our employees.

We proudly acknowledge 53% of our employees are women ranging from our COO (top executive position in the firm) through to our support staff.  In addition, 6.25% of our workforce has veteran status.  While we have made good progress, we are committed to expanding our efforts to attract, recruit, advance, and retain diverse attorneys and staff.
